WORKSHOP: The Truth of Tech (engl.)

In the fast-evolving world of data science, especially with the rise of generative AI, students face a crucial gap between their academic achievements and the real-world job market. Many struggle to land their first position after completing their master’s or PhD, not because they lack skills, but because they lack the clarity on what’s truly expected from them. Unfortunately, these skills are not typically taught in standard applied technical degrees, even though they are increasingly demanded by employers.

This workshop dives into the key topics reshaping the field:

1. Expectations vs Reality – Understand the evolving demands of data science roles, market expectations, and why university curriculums might not be enough.

2. Ethical Considerations in AI – As a data scientist, you are accountable for creating ethical AI solutions, especially with the new EU AI Act in mind. Learn how to navigate these responsibilities in your career.

3. Soft Skills in Tech – Discover why communication skills are now just as important, if not more, than technical expertise in the data science field. In fact, they might be the key to your success.
