LUNCH TALK: Future User Interfaces
Through this theoretical lecture, we will explore 3D user interfaces, spatial interaction techniques, and various input modalities such as speech and gaze from a human-computer interaction perspective. Most of the concepts discussed will focus on Extended Reality technologies. We will cover the foundations of 3D UI design for XR, focusing on definitions, interaction possibilities, best practices, and some basic design guidelines to provide a comprehensive overview for those interested in designing for XR.

Asst. Prof. Dr. Elif Gürçınar
Hello, I am a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute for Interactive Technologies, Fachhochschule Nordwestschweiz. My current research topic consists of human-computer interaction in virtual reality environments and eye-tracking and it is funded by the Swiss Government Excellence Scholarship. I studied Industrial Product Design in Istanbul and graduated in 2016. Afterward, I started doing an integrated Ph.D. degree, which focused on development for mobile augmented reality and training spatial abilities. During my Ph.D., I worked as a Research Assistant and finally as an Assistant Professor at Istanbul Arel University, in the Department of Interior Architecture, where I gave lectures for three semesters.
