Bachelor's Thesis – Materials Science and Microsystems Engineering - 3D printing of glass, development of nanocomposites
Department of Microsystems Technology (IMTEK) at the University of Freiburg
Nowadays, to produce things by yourself is not that hard anymore. You are an engineer and need to build a prototype?- why not print it? You are an artist and create sculptures?- you can simply print it. You want to propose to someone and urgently need a ring?- even that one you could probably print.
However, even though 3D printing is already highly developed, there are still some areas that need to be worked on. One of these areas is the usage of different materials, such as glass. This is also exactly the content of the offered Bachelor's Thesis. Your tasks will include for example researching the flow behaviour of glass, the use of various commercial available metal oxide nanopowders and much more.
Therefore, if you are a student studying in material science, microsystems engineering or other related subjects and you have a basic knowledge about organic chemistry, then you could be soon a member of the NeptunLab team.
